File-level restore of Linux LUKS filesystems
Can Veeam B&R perform file-level restores of files on Linux VMs with LUKS encrypted filesystems with the latest version?
I've searched and seen some older posts (below) which says it wasn't available at the time the posts were made but I would like to know if that feature has been added since these posts were made:
veeam-agent-for-linux-f41/luks-support-t36668.html (7/22/2016)
veeam-backup-replication-f2/backup-and- ... 43368.html (6/2/2017)
Thanks!!

Re: File-level restore of Linux LUKS filesystems
Hello,
I can only add that you could always do instant VM recovery / Universal restore to do a manual file level restore (without the FLR wizard).
Best regards,
Hannes

[MERGED] File system restore for LUKS encrypted partitions on Linux
Hi.
We have a VM with a LUKS encrypted secondary partition (/ is on ext4, /data is LUKS encrypted), which is mounted manually (not at boot). Of course, when mounted, it's fully accessible by the system.
The VM runs open-vm-tools.
When B&R is run, is it able to access the partition content and perform file level backup (and later on, restore)?
Thanks.

Re: File-level restore of Linux LUKS filesystems
Hello,
please use forum search
In-guest encryption prevents file-level restore of machines backed up vm-based (that's the same for every backup software). If you need file-based restore, then in-guest backup has to be used (agents).
Please see the answer above about other restore options / workarounds.
Best regards,
Hannes

Thanks @HannesK! I swear I did search for more than 30m, I eventually used the wrong terms.
