File Restore Limit

Post by CraigFrontier » Jul 25, 2017 2:32 am

Hi

We have purchased Veeam for one of our remote sites, and have a general query about restoring.

Currently we are using EMC networker for backups and restores, and they have a limitation on restoring more that 5000 files to one directory.
I did some searching and it appears to be a VMware limitation on FLR (https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/micro ... Id=2053871)

My question is will Veeam be able to overcome this limitation and restore more that 5000 files in our virtual environment or is it a VMware limit which no backup software can get around

Thanks

This looks to be a VDP limitation, not a global vSphere one. So doesn't have any relation to Veeam B&R, it can restore any number of files.
