Re: Gateway Server traffic ...
Hello,
hmm, not sure what you mean with two gateway servers... there is the option for "automatic" which will assign the gateway role dynamically as described here (depends on the situation, the table): https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110
If you want all traffic to go through one server, just configure "the following server" https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... er=110#smb
Best regards,
Hannes
PS: chances are high that you have to configure all your backup and backup copy jobs with "active full" SMB shares.

Re: Gateway Server traffic ...
Hello,
Thanks for your reply.
What I mean, the 2 gateway servers (for redandoncy if one failed) are add in the Managed Servers, in repository settings, the option is set as "automatic" like you said. I just want to be sure that when the job run it use one of the 2 gateway servers. How can I check that?

Re: Gateway Server traffic ...
If you want redundancy, then you have to use "automatic". Then there will be automatic load balancing. See the table from the user guide I linked earlier.
If you want to go through one server, then you have to configure one server.

Re: Gateway Server traffic ...
Yes I agree for that, thanks,
I just want to verify to be sure that the traffic is going thru the good network.

Re: Gateway Server traffic ...
I just tested and all traffic goes through the Veeam backup server and not through the Gataway server. From what I see through the performance manager
Windows. This is not what I want.
The important point, this is workstation backup.

What do you mean? This is normal? How can I go thru the gateway servers and not thru the Veeam Server?

Re: Gateway Server traffic ...
Are you still using automatic selection option?
If so, the situation is expected - backup server automatically selects gateway server from the list of available ones (sometimes it might be backup server itself).
If you want backup traffic to go trough particular server, disable automatic selection and choose this server as a gateway server.
Thanks!

Re: Gateway Server traffic ...
OK.
I tested by selecting a particular gateway server and the traffic goes through that server.
The veeam server is not sized to support backups. And I have two gateways for redundancy issues. It is for this reason that the automatic mode interests me.
So there is no way not to choose the veeam server itself?

Re: Gateway Server traffic ...
There are no gateway groups for what you want todo.
But there is a feature request, for having a feature to group gateway server together for processing specific backup repos.

Re: Gateway Server traffic ...
Hello,
I found a post that give a solution :
veeam-backup-replication-f2/how-to-excl ... 37751.html
To avoid the traffic go thru the Veeam Server, disable the proxy from it.
