Hi Everyone,
I am trying to fault find an error with connecting to guest VMs.
Towards this end I have been working through the VEEAM KB below -
https://www.veeam.com/kb1230
I am currently stuck on the instruction 'Make sure the VSS writers are set to automatic in the guest OS'.
Can anybody explain how to perform this check?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Davo

Re: Help needed in checking VSS writer settings?
Hi David,
Actually, what it means is that the VSS writers needs to be started. For example, the VSS writer of SQL is a service and sometimes that service is on manual (or even disabled) depending on the installation (can't remember anymore if this is default or not...)
So, in command prompt. Run:
That should give you already an overview of the writers on the guest.
In services (services.msc), have a look if there are no VSS writers services that are set to manual or disabled
Hope it helps
Mike
