How to MS SQL - System database restore

Post by mamosorre84 »

Hello,

I read in Veeam documentation:

By default, system databases (master, model, msdb) are skipped from transaction log processing and are not a part of the Veeam Explorer for Microsoft SQL Server restore workflow. To recover these databases, you can use file-level restore.

My question is: using file level restore to recover for example the master db, do I have to replace the mdf and ldf files in the source VM? What are the correct steps?

Thank you

Marco

Hi Marco,

You should restore necessary DB files by using file level restore and manually replace them. Thanks!
