Hi there -
Can Veeam 5x be installed on a virtual SBS 2011 server and then backup this server (backup itself?)
-Or must I install Veeam on a second W2k8 VM and then use this to backup my SBS 2011? (This would ofcource generate another W2k8 lisence)
Please advice.
Kind r
Bjørn-Tore

Re: Install on and backup a SBS server?
Hi Bjørn, you can install Veeam on SBS, yes. As for backing up itself, you would have to have application-aware processing disabled for this VM. Thanks!

Re: Install on and backup a SBS server?
ok,
It is my understanding that this is not the preferred installation, missing the application-aware processing option then?
Do you recommend Veeam on a second server instead (thought it means another lisence) ?

Re: Install on and backup a SBS server?
It is always good idea to have Veeam installed on a separate server if possible for other reasons. Our backup engine uses a lot of CPU when backup jobs run, so this can affect other applications running on this server. Thanks.
