Job order and fullparralelle processing performance
I create a schedule so that we do first job A then, B the C ,... with parallel processing activated. I have an recent 8 core CPU met 32 GB ram.
The reason is that otherwise veaam decides witch VM to process random and that I can't estimate when some servers will be processed, and maybe it is faster because there is only 1 destination file open?
So is there a way when job A has only 4 disk to backup that job starts , ant that have always 8 disk jobs running?

Re: Job order and fullparralelle processing performance
It's not actually random. Tasks assigned to the available proxy server slots according to the order of VMs in the list.kte wrote:The reason is that otherwise veaam decides witch VM to process random
Not sure I understand what is destination file. Are you probably talking about the number of tasks assigned to the target storage at each moment in time?kte wrote:maybe it is faster because there is only 1 destination file open?
Could you please clarify on this also?kte wrote:So is there a way when job A has only 4 disk to backup that job starts , ant that have always 8 disk jobs running?

Re: Job order and fullparralelle processing performance
I tested this in V7 without a patch with running joba A @ 10:00 PM and job B @ 10:05PM aand JOB C @ 10:10PM
but I had aal jobs running mixed and job 1 was not finished yet C wwas allready running. On the proxy I have 8 cores and 8 the disk can handle 10 concurrent jobs
What I woul like to have is 8 disk being backupped all the time and first do job A, if there are only 7 disk left veem start job B until until job A is finished and all 8 task are running on job B
I veeam needs to write his backup file mayve if only 1 job is running or max2 he only needs to write t 1 or 2 files instead to 5-6 files
I hope this is clear

Yes, it is clear - and I believe this exact change has already been made in the next version's code branch earlier.

So Anton, this means the discussions we had previously about the improvements in the parallel processing algorythms are under development, but they will not appear in 7.0 R2? Did I get it right?
