Linux guest file restore error

Post by vfandrea »

I have to restore some single guest files from backup of a linux VM.

I start the "Guest File Restore Wizard" and after setting all the needed parameters I get this error:

Code: Select all

Failed to mount restore point
Unable to connect by SSH to appliance.
Failed to login to host: 'X.X.X.X', port: 22, user: 'root', elevation to
root: 'no', autoSudo: no, auth type: 'Password', host name: , IPs:
[X.X.X.X].
User Authentication Failed
Where X.X.X.X it's and IP address of my internal network (but not the IP of the linux VM to restore.

What's wrong?

Hi,

Please try to login in the virtual appliance (x.x.x.x) using 'root' as a username and 'your_network_appliance_name_r' as a password. Also please check if virtual appliance password has been specified in Credentials Manager.

Thanks.

It seems that virtual appliance password was not set.

Thank you.
