One of my customers, using both TSM and Veeam Backup, is looking for a long retention strategy for backup data (about 5 years)
The Veeam full backup is around 3 TB, so the customers is looking for a traditional backup software that can manage long retention to tape, mostly for the File Server data (only data, not full VM). The customers is not happy with TSM, so he would like to change the traditional backup software. He received a good presentation from Commvault, but I've never heard that product
Any suggestion from the Veeam customers and partners? What are you doing for long retention?
Briefly, for a customer with same issues, we went for Amazon Glacier and saved there the backups.
No tape management, no vaulting,no courier with boxes full of tapes to be stored is some bank's security lock, simply a 10 mbits connection and a credit card
Also, beeing you registered in these forums, have you seen today's weekly post by Anton in your inbox? Seems like there would be something new coming out in the near future...
