looking for advice

Post by jftuga »

This is not a support request.

An application software vendor we use (running on a dedicated VM) strictly forbids the use of the VSS service. They say it can corrupt the application's internal database. I am not going to argue over this with them even though I don't see how this is possible. If their application gets corrupted and we are using VSS then I will get blamed for this even if this is not true.

I am only looking for advice on how you would back up a Server 2008 R2 server under these conditions. What settings would you use for Veeam 5.0.1?

Thanks,
-John

Hi John, just make sure you disable application-aware processing for this VM. You can do this granularly, for a single VM in case there are other VMs in the job. Thanks.
