Love Instant Recovery
Are CAS server crashed over the weekend. We used the "Instant Recovery" function and was able to get the CAS server up and running in less than hour. Thanks Veeam

Re: Love Instant Recovery
Thanks for sharing, Jay! Glad to hear it just worked when needed it just don't forget to migrate the VM back to your production storage at some point soon.
By the way, we're improving Instant VM Recovery engine performance up to a few times depending on scenario in the upcoming 9.5 release!

Re: Love Instant Recovery
Would this feature work with a Data Domain backup appliance?
I'm wondering if it is too slow for this.
It's extremely slow for Surebackup test environment.
Any recommended backup appliance for Exchange that is faster for recovery than data domain?

YMMV and all as I don't know your Exchange environment, but we have been very happy with Exagrid on a 10G network. Their concept of a landing zone keeps the IOPS from being completely horrible. I would certainly look to a DAG as a first line of defense with Exchange, but I would certainly consider running a CAS from an Exagrid during recovery.

Re: Love Instant Recovery
With Instant recovery from my Netapp snapshot it takes only as long that it takes to boot the recovered VM. The recovered VM is already on the SAN so it is off to the races. I can also Instant Recover all VMs on the SAN at the same time if needed with all VMs running full speed. My SAN snapshots are now my replica's on the live SAN without using the space. Works the same way at the DR site using remote snapshots. I think the value of the Instant Recovery feature is not known until you need it. My DR tests love Instant Recovery
