Luns limitation on Veeam physical server?
I'm planning to install VEEAM on a physical server with Windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise and use SAN mode to backup the VMs. Is there a limitation on the number of LUNs that can be presented to to this Windows server? I'm guessing there is a maximum number at the OS level, HBA or somewhere, but I can't seem to find much information on this. There are about 80 LUNs that I'm looking to present to it. Can anyone chime in on this?

Hello,
As per this article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/libr ... 10%29.aspx,

Rather old arcticle and written about Windows 2003 series, but my guess that Windows 2008 R2 is also good at these numbersMaximum volumes per server --- Approximately 2,000 volumes

Thanks. I actually came across to the same article on Windows 2003. It would be great if someone who might have done this before can provide some insight on this as well....

Thanks, Marco. Did you have to make any registry changes to support that many luns? Does it take a long time to boot up?
I also ping'ed Microsoft and the numbers haven't changed since Windows 2003. It's still
8 buses per adapter
128 target IDs per bus
255 LUNs per target ID

No registry hack. Boot time is normal
