May I delete the zip files in \veeam\backup directory?

Post by bogalt »

Morning,

is it safe to remove the .zip files located in C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup and its subfolders? (I am running out of memory in C:\)
I have found another topic taking about this from 2015: (veeam-backup-replication-f2/deleting-un ... 31633.html) saying that
Deleting archived logs (ZIP and GZ) is safe. Also, you can adjust logs archival and retention settings according to your needs in future.
Has anything changed in the meanwile? Are there files that I should not touch? Is it safe to remove them manually or should i follow the Change Settings Related to Veeam Backup & Replication Log Files article located here: https://www.veeam.com/kb1825

Thanks

AFAIK and from my several manual cleanups in the mentioned folder, it is safe to delete the ZIP-files. You just don't have those logs any longer, should they be needed for future investigations. You can therefor also focus on jobs that no longer exist and where the folders and ZIP-files in fact only just waste space...
