More advanced traffic shaping rules

Post by np-mast »

We are currently facing the challenge of re-IP-ing our Cloud Connect infrastructure - one major pain point is that we will have to touch almost every customer´s traffic shaping rules in Veeam as those are currently built on an IP address basis
It would be great to have more options to traffic shape on, for example:
- DNS hostnames
- "All Cloud Connect Gateways"
- on a per-CloudConnect-Service-Provider basis

Hello Maximilian

Thanks for your request.
Can you please elaborate which connections you need to throttle?

Where do you have set those Traffic Rules? Network Traffic Rules in the VBR Console?

Are you using "limit network traffic" for a tenant in the Tenant settings?

Best,
Fabian

Hello Fabian,

we are using both.

In our CloudConnect installation we use the "limit network traffic" option per tenant to set how much bandwidth the customer is paying for. (we charge for bandwidth)
However many customers require more settings, for example depending on time of day. It would be great to have more options for that.
