I"m new to Veeam but need to setup jobs to keep incrementals for each day of the month and then a full once a month which should be kept for 7 years. I currently don't have tape archive access so these backups will live on an EMC DD. Our environment has servers classified as :
Platinum - Daily restore point and one monthly full. Each month kept for 7 years. Incremental with Active fulls
Gold - Weekly backup kept for 8 months. Set as reverse incremental
Silver - Monthly backup that is kept for 3 months. Set as Reverse incremental
What backup method is best for this and should the Platinum jobs be setup as two jobs? monthly with different retention than daily? If i set the retention at 30 for the Platinum jobs, will it keep the Active fulls for this long ?
