Hi guys
we're currently evaluating a SAN storage refresh. We're looking at NetApp and they seem to provide alot of storage level snapshot backup/restore capabilities including down to (and possibly beyond) the per VM level for VMWare. I was wondering if anyone out there has any experience or thoughts regarding what Veeam can offer NetApp users over and above what the NetApp Snap products do? Do you really need a product like Veeam if you have the NetApp backup/restore software?
Thanks

Re: NetApp & Veeam B&R
Some storage vendors have been hailing storage snapshots as the end of all other backup approaches for the last decade, yet a decade later the Backup market is stronger than ever :
A snapshot is not a backup, watch this webinar to find out why:

Associated whitepaper will be available with the release of Veeam B&R v7.

There are also some reasons of why you do need a "real" backup over the SAN snapshots given in this blog post, worth reviewing.
