NetBackup 5230 appliances

Post by apetersen »

Hello,

We got a couple of spare NetBackup appliances and I was wondering whether anyone have any experience with using them as backup repositories with Veeam? I am not even sure whether it is technical possible.

Thank you
Allan

Hi Allan, if you're able to present the storage to Veeam B&R via one of the supported ways, why not?

Can anyone confirm if the NBU 5230 actually can be used as a repo? I have someone that purchased these and wants to take out NBU, but keep the hardware and re-purpose as a Veeam Repo. I would like confirmation before destroying data. Thanks

If it runs Windows or Linux, or at least can share its capacity via SMB or NFS, then you should be able to make it work.
