No reporting history when using Immediate Copy (mirroring)
We have noticed that when using Immediate Copy (mirroring) for cloud backup copies, the report option that you get when in Jobs | Backup Copy and right clicking on the backup job, selecting Report only shows details of the last backup job and no further history, whereas with Periodic copy (pruning) we are able to the history for the most recent backup jobs.
My assumption is that this is by design, however we find it very useful to be able to check the history of backup copies.
What is the reason for the lack of history for the Immediate Copy (mirroring) and is there any alternative way of getting copy job history?

Re: No reporting history when using Immediate Copy (mirroring)
Hi Tom,
You are right, we don't keep such history for immediate copy. Instead, email reports are created for each source job (i.e. task) separately as soon such task is completed.
So in this case we show only the current state for all job tasks.
If you need a detailed overview of the source tasks you can go under the History node where every source job has its own dedicated task entry and log.
Thanks!

Thank you for the quick response. Can you advise what the thinking behind this is - it seems to be a step backwards to see reduced information. And is this likely to change in future product releases?

While this is slightly offtopic (don't want to derail the conversation), but if you have Veeam ONE, you leverage our predefined report to get historical information for backup copy jobs running in a mirroring mode > Backup Copy Job

The thinking behind was a different job architecture where it has multiple source jobs that are processed independently (when the corresponding new backups appear) so showing all of them would result in a complete mess.

[MERGED] Differences in details view for copy job immediate mode job
Hi,
there seems to be some differences in the display of the job details for immediate mode copy jobs.
When the job is running you see much more detail when checking the job progress on the 'running' node. In there you see the details per VM and also the progress per disk and other useful info.
However, when you go to the backup copy job node and select the job there, you only see one line which reports the total progress per vm. No details for the individual objects of each vm.
Also, when the immediate copy job has finished you can't view the details of the job anymore, only the aggregated results, the same results as you see when viewing the running job from the copy job node. For a periodic mode job you can see all the details, even for completed jobs.
It would be nice to have this possibility also for immediate mode copy jobs. For troubleshooting purposes you sometimes want to see the details per disk (for example how much data was transferred and at which rate). This doesn't seem to be possible now.

Re: No reporting history when using Immediate Copy (mirroring)
Its been bothering me for a while now but I agree with the other disappointed users. Seems like a step backwards on this one.
So instead of redesigning the Statistics Log windows to support drilling down multiple layers needed to see logs statistics from 2,3,4 hours ago for VariousJobs/VariousServers, you guys just took the option away and took the easy way out. Even if you RightClick the backup copy job and go to Report it only gives you the last session report which again bit.usefull but pretty useless at the same time.
To me it seemed more convenient to have the backup copy jobs configured as "Immediate copy (mirroring)", but now we loose instant quality logging without a deep dive.
