I didn't know the appropriate place to post this and there may not be a general location so here goes.
The Word from Gustov newsletter this week.
The sentence of the first paragraph mentions the failure of Openstack.
I am curious why he considers it a failure.
I did some initial googling and could only find posts from a few years ago regarding issues with Openstack.
My company has a requirement to support Openstack and have not heard of any change to that.
I gather there are companies who have a desire to make sure that there is more than just one decent hypervisor option besides VMWare so would have an incentive to make sure it doesn't fail.

Re: openstack failure
Many companies who've been implementing OpenStack in the past years have eventually abandoned one, and so did many OpenStack-related startups. OpenStack still has its niche and it may very well be the right fit for your company in particular, but it failed to become something bigger than that despite all the hype of the past years. And in the context of my post specifically, I was talking about its failure to become notable VMware competitor, which was something widely touted at the time.
