Do we have to fully use PostGre SQL to enable the Entra ID backup in the VBR server v12.3?
Because my existing Config DB is still on SQL Server on the same server as the VBR server.

No, it is not required.
- Backup Configuration can be on MSSQL or PostgreSQL.
- EntraID backups have to go to PostgreSQL.
As explained in the knowledge base, if the automatic deployment of PostgreSQL during the upgrade process didn't succeed, you'll need to deploy your own compatible PostgreSQL instance.
The Microsoft Entra ID backup repository requires a PostgreSQL instance. If one is not available, you must deploy a compatible PostgreSQL instance.
We don't have a guide on how to install PostgreSQL. But we also never had one for MSSQL server.
Can you verify if PostgreSQL was installed or not on the backup server? It should be there.
