Hi,
i know that i can pre-seed VM:s that i want to move over WAN with replication, but what about backup? For example if i have the following setup:
Main site:
VMware environment ~500GB
Physical backup proxy computer with Veeam server with Repository1
Off-site:
Repository2 (Windows computer)
Job setup:
Backup job 1 -> Daily reverse incremental to Repository1
Backup job 2 -> Daily reverse incremental to Repository2 (over WAN)
Can i first make a full backup to Repository1, then copy the data to USB and transfer it to Repository2 and continue both backup jobs with Reverse incremental to both repositories? I really need to avoid transferring the 500GB for the first sync over WAN, because it will take very long.
If i cannot do this, any other ideas how i could accomplish this? I would need local backups for fast recovery and off-site backups. I will move off-site backups to tape for archiving purposes weekly.
Thanks!

Re: pre-seeding normal backups
Hi Peter,
Yes, absolutely! Pre-seeding of the backup files is also possible. Please see more details in this topic on how to correctly change a repository for the backup files: Moving To New Repository
Thank you.
