Hello,
we have some software solutions where the software vendor wants us to turn off application awareness when backing up the vms with veeam.
They often use database systems like oracle, sql server etc. and create database dumps / backups on the local disk of the vm.
Now of course we can try to schedule the Veeam backups so they run after the local dump, but there will always be the risk that for example someone modifies the time when the database dump takes place so it could conflict with the time veeam does the backup of the vm, resulting an unusable backup of the dump.
Are there any recommendations for handling situations like this to ensure a valid backup of the dump?

Re: Recommendations for handling database dumps?
The best approach would be leveraging Veeam Application aware feature or Enterprise Plugins in order to take consistent database backups without requiring a temporary stop of the application

Or use a script which will run in the vm before backup. That script can put an application or database in a state suitable for backup, or create dumps.
