Hi everyone,
first time poster, long time Veeam B&R user. recently upgraded our enterprise to Veeam Availability suite.
We have some VMs that we replicate to a remote site that's on a different complete subnet. Currently we do it for safe keep of the VMs offsite in case of Fire or issues with the physical equipment in the production site. Enviornment is mixed of VMware and HyperV
What do you guys do/setup when performing a planned/unplanned failover to a remote site and have continues services? I understand Veeam Replication job has the ability to re-ip a VM, but what do you guys do in regards to domain joined VMs that have a DNS record (Dynamic or Static)? I know we can fail over to another VM at a remote site, re-ip and let DNS take care of things.
But what if we wanted to have server operate right away or within the shortest amount of time?
any best practice advise?
Thanks,
Bashar

Re: Remote Site Failover (Re-IP)
Hi,
If I got everythin correctly, you could make use of a Failover Plan and its pre/post-failover scripts. Please also check this link.
Thank you.
