Replica digest taking place

Post by brichardson1991_obk »

Hi we have a replication job setup and it runs fine until it hits a scheduled time at 12:00 at which point for some reason it decides it needs to calculate the digests.
This has happened both today and yesterday.
The only change was we increased a disk size however this was last Friday.
Any reason that the digests need calculating again and again?

I've raised this as a severity of 2 under [ID# 01098602] as we have some important SAN work taking place and we need our replica's readily available. As it stands this replica is going to take 18 hours and that falls well outside the window.

Does anyone here know why this might have happened

Ben, digests re-calculation is expected after changing the disk size (actually, replica restore points should also be merged during the next job run). Did the first job run after changing the disk size complete successfully?

The first job after the disk increase ran and did a digest check on the friday.

We saw this happen again yesterday and today. The job runs at 0600 and ran for 15 mins then when it came to 1200 it ran a digest, the next task at 16:00 last night ran for 15mins.

Hence asking the question of why this has happened 2 times since the original disk space increase.

Let our engineers review the logs you've provided. Probably some other change in environment causes this.

Figured it out, the replica snapshots for some reason were stored on a different drive to normal, so when they were checked we changed the setting. Without moving them, therefore the job re-ran.

Job is now running as expected.
