Hi I have a simple question.
I will be replicating a VM from my production site to my DR site.
Is there a policy or rule that prohibits a VM in the DR site to be powered on at the same time the Production VM that is being replicated to be powered ON?
Thanks,
William

Re: Replicating a VM to a DR site + rule not to be ON togeth
Hi William, no. If you initiate Failover in Veeam UI, replica VM will be automatically powered on without any checks assuming the original VM is lost (because why would you initiate failover in the first place, if it was not the case). Do you have some suggestions here? Thanks.

Re: Replicating a VM to a DR site + rule not to be ON togeth
Hi Gostev,
Well the logic here would be that if we have a production VM powered on and the replica VM powered off at our DR site and there are no Failover required all is OK
Then is there a policy or rule or feature that prohibits a VM in the DR site to be powered on. Just to prevent any conflicts during normal operations?
By the way great presentation at VMworld 2011
