Hello,
General question about proxy servers: how does Veeam select which proxy to use on what backup job?
I'm asking because i see the following on some of my jobs this morning:
4-5 jobs are on 0%, waiting for resource availability
I want to make sure that the proxy servers arent the resource that is being waited on.
4 proxys are configured in total, one has no limitations for max number of jobs, but another has a limitation of "2 max concurrent tasks"
*Sidenote - does 2 tasks mean that the proxy can run 2 backup jobs at the same time, or 2 VMs from a single backup job?
So is it possible that 3 backups use the proxy with maximum 2 tasks, and that's what is holding the jobs back?
Thanks in advance

Re: Resource availability - backup proxy servers
2 tasks = 2 VM disks as far as i know. Why not just increase the max tasks to 4 and see if it helps.
Our proxy is set to 32 on a 5 year old server (with 16 cores) and never reaches any CPU limits.

Hi Zlatan,
You can review existing discussion about what is Proxy and how it works, especially this post by Tom with the useful links.
Please keep in mind you can set a limitation of concurrent task in the Repository settings too. Thanks!
