Restore from different instance to different host

Post by mlynch3788 »

I am trying to restore a VM on a different instance and version of Veeam, to a different host on a different network. The backup was made on a Windows domain with v6.5. The Restore is being done on a different windows domain from an instance of v8.0 When I try to select the backup file, I get prompted for credentials. I have put in every possible iteration I know. The Backup job was originally created by the domain administrator account on the production domain. I have tried the FQDN\administrator, just the domain\administrator, localPC\administrator and nothing works. Of course, I have also tried just administrator, to no avail. The domain\administrator account is also the account for logging into the VCenter server.

Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong, or suggest some workaround?

Thanks,

MIchael

Did you import that backup to a new console? I'm wondering because it's not clear at what step backup server asks you to input credentials. Probably, pictures will be helpful. Thanks.
