Restore issue in DirectSAN ISCSI. ID : 02682106

Post by gajinn »

Hi,

I have a physical Veeam Backup 9.5 server in a all-in-one configuration. I want to backup and restore in DirectSAN ISCSI mode.
The backup works well but the restore fails. I have this error :

Code: Select all

Restore job failed Error: VDDK error: 16000 (One of the parameters supplied is invalid). Value: 0x0000000000003e80 Failed to download disk. Agent failed to process method {DataTransfer.SyncDisk}. Exception from server: Shared memory connection was closed. Failed to upload disk.
I use a Dell Equallogic disk array. This model does not offer read only mode.

Do you know the problem and how to correct it.

Thanks you for the help.

Best regards.

Hello,

What about network based restore? Does it work? Also, what types of disks are you trying to restore? Does this issue happen for all VMs?

Thank you!

Hello,

Yes, the network restore works well. It's only the writting in directSAN the problem.

In detail, the server have two interfaces :
eth0 : Vmware network in 1Gbps
eth1 : ISCSI SAN network in 10 Gbps

Veeam backup use the same CHAP account than as ESX.

I would restore "Entire VM" Vmware. Yes, the problem occurs for all VMs.
I would restore in directSAN because my ISCSI network is in 10 Gbps.

Thanks you for the help.

Ok, then it must be something to do with the VDDK and the way how data is uploaded to your SAN. Let's see what our support team finds out after reviewing the debug logs.

Windows avait monté les partitions en read-only.

Solution :
diskpart
>list disk
>select Diskname
>attributes disk clear readonly

Merci pour l'aide.
Cordialement
