Restore VM to new name

Post by toreml »

Hi

I need to restore a VM to a new name - but what about the name of the vmdk files?
Will those change to the same as the new VM name?
I cant see that I can change the name or see that it names are changed.
I have to restore to the same data store.

We use 9.5 update 4

Regards
Tore ML

Hello,
you don't need to care about the names of VMDKs. It will "just work". It's set correct automatically.

Just choose to restore to a different location and adjust VM name and datastore.

Best regards,
Hannes
