Restoring database error MSiSCSIMountTargetDisks

Post by kikanq »

Hello,
I am using the VBR console on a Windows 11 computer - when restoring the database I get the message:

"TEST_base Failed to call RPC function 'MSiSCSIMountTargetDisks': iSCSI target was not found."

However, when trying directly from the VBR server, everything works fine.

Please help me explain why this is?

Hello,

During the MSSQL restore, the database files within the backup files are mounted via iSCSI on the specified staging server. Your error message indicates that this process is not possible. I suspect that the necessary network ports between your Windows 11 machine, the backup environment, and the specified MSSQL staging server may be blocked by a firewall, potentially the on-host firewall.

Please ensure that the required ports are open. If you believe everything is configured correctly and are still facing issues, please contact customer support to investigate the situation. We cannot investigate such issues through a forum topic. Without case number, the topic will eventually be deleted by moderators.

- Backup Environment
- MSSQL Restore

Best regards,
Fabian
