I currently have one dedicated server for Veeam B&R 6, and I was thinking about adding my vCenter server as a secondary backup proxy.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Would this be a bad idea for performance?

Matthew, think of it like having both vCenter and backup server in v5 on the same machine
. It should not raise any issues except the performance. Backup proxy performs resource intensive tasks (on-the-fly processing of heavy data streams during deduplication and compression) which can affect vCenter operation.
