Secondary Backup Proxy

Post by mcvosi »

I currently have one dedicated server for Veeam B&R 6, and I was thinking about adding my vCenter server as a secondary backup proxy.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Would this be a bad idea for performance?

Thx

Matthew, think of it like having both vCenter and backup server in v5 on the same machine. It should not raise any issues except the performance. Backup proxy performs resource intensive tasks (on-the-fly processing of heavy data streams during deduplication and compression) which can affect vCenter operation.
