Hi,
I am trying to integrate an antivirus to the secure restore process.
I keep getting a message in the wizard "Cannot detect known antivirus software on the backup repository's mount server"
For this testing, I am using a simple setup - Windows Server 2022, with Veeam v11, fully installed on that one server (so the mount server is the same).
I checked the AntivirusInfos.xml, it looks ok - I used the portable option that does not require registry, and pointed to a simple test script.
I then used the out of the box configuration for ESET and Defender, still get the same message.
Can you advise what other troubleshooting steps can be taken, and if there is a detailed log somewhere that indicates where the search for the AV fails ?

Re: Secure restore cannot find antivirus
Have a look at this: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110
I believe your ' ExecutableFilePath' should point to the ESET executable not a powershell script.

Re: Secure restore cannot find antivirus
thanks for reply.
I reviewed the documentation.
I have ESET installed and I am using the default configuration (as comes out of the box, the same as in the link you provided). Same message.
The example XML I provided above, is when I was trying to configure a new scanner. Since I pointed to an exe file, it shouldnt be an issue.
But again, I got the same error message when trying to use ESET (ExecutableFilePath='%ProgramFiles%\ESET\ESET Security\ecls.exe') and Defender (ExecutableFilePath='%ProgramFiles%\Windows Defender\mpcmdrun.exe').
all of the 3 executables (my test, ecls.exe and mpcmdrun.exe are working fine from a command prompt.

Re: Secure restore cannot find antivirus
I suggest you open a support case so Veeam support can review your logs.
P.s. this topic will probably be removed if you don’t provide a support case #

Re: Secure restore cannot find antivirus
Issue was resolved after clean install.
The failure was most likely it seems that the account password was changed after the backup job, and the secure restore was failing on that - but without proper log message.
It doesnt make sense (that change of password of the mount server will affect it), but that's how I got it to work.
