Hi,
I couldn't find an answer through search so I'm sorry if this has been asked before. When backing up a Windows Server with MS SQL server and Application aware processing enabled, how does Schedule > Backup window affect the SQL Log Backup. Does it ignore the window or obey it?
Whe have a job that backups a VM and also its SQL log with an interval of 240 mins through AWP. The window of this job restricts it to run during daytime but the SQL log job is basically always in running state. The end result of both jobs is always good, but looking at the timestamps it seems that the SQL log job is ignoring Backup window rules. Is this correct?

Re: 'SQL Log Backup' and 'Backup window'
Hi, that`s correct. Backup window does not propagate to SQL logs backup.

Hi. Shestakov
Could you pleace take this as a +1 for a feature request to be able to controlle when to take SQL log backup.
Case where this is needed:
Backup of a SQL server which is backend for at webshop, orders are coming in i from 06:00 to 22:00 so here the customer want 15min LOG backup, but at night they load price updates at 02:00 and do database maintance, which changes alot in the database and gernerates ALOT of log data which we don´t need backup of and will sometime give errors in the backup rapport because its unable to finish the LOG backup in the 15min time slot.
Suggestion would be to be able to set at separate time window to do the log backup or be able to say that log backup should run for x hours after VM backup, example: backup at 04:00 and log backup for 18hours in x interval, pause LOG backup until next full.
in this way we will not have to run log backup of nightly batch changes.

Hi Frank, your request is accepted. Meanwhile, please review this thread, should help in case you decide to workaround by temporarily enabling/disabling the logs backup via script.
