Hi,
Question regarding, https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ?ver=95u4
If you choose "Deny in-place database restores (safer)" does the role have privileges to restore to the backed up SQL at all.
Or does it only have the privileges to restore to another staging server, not the backed up production server?
Example: Can the role restore to directly to the backed up SQL server with different database name?
Best regards!
Victor

Re: SQL Restore in Enterprise manager, Role : Deny in-place database restores (safer), how does it work?
Hello, Victor
Yes, you can still restore databases with this option enabled, but not to their original location.
For example, you can restore them to a dev/test SQL server, or to the original SQL server but with a different database name. This option serves as an optional protection from accidental overwriting of the production database by helpdesk staff.
Thanks!

Re: SQL Restore in Enterprise manager, Role : Deny in-place database restores (safer), how does it work?
Hi Gostev,
Okay, nice to hear.
Though I don't get it to work as aspected.
I can't restore with a different name to the same instance.
As you can see below.
I am trying to restore the Database to the same SQL server and to the same default instance with a different name.
So under server it is <sql name>\ .
The account has the box ticked so don't have the ability to restore over.
Do I understand you wrong regarding that should work?
Best regards!
