SQL Server backup chain
I am using B&R 9.5 (Std ed.) and attempting to backup several SQL Servers using application-aware processing with "copy only" setting because the DBA wants to use the existing SQL Server maintenance plans. The DBA says that Veeam is messing with the SQL Server backup chain and causing the local SQL backup files to become unusable. Is there a way to backup the machine and skip the SQL Server portion? I don't want to disable the application-aware processing since it is beneficial for the the other machines in the Veeam backup job. Am I looking at this wrong? Thanks.

Re: SQL Server backup chain
Hello Jeff.
You can exclude SQL databases from processing like described in this KB article. Will that help? Thanks.

Re: SQL Server backup chain
With copy only Veeam B&R shouldn't interfere with the logs, so if you see different behavior, I recommend looking at this with the help of our support engineers.
