SureBackup - Improving Performance

Post by getzjd »

I opened case 02509948, but figured I would inquire here about optimizing the SureBackup environment. In regards to how data is transferred between the backup repository and the SureBackup host which interface is being used? Would this be the management network of the host or would this be the same network that the proxy appliance is utilizing? Obviously, our goal is to aggregate physical NIC's where necessary.

In addition to increasing the network throughput what other design considerations would everyone recommend knowing that:

1. SureBackup host has 7.6Tb of local disk storage available on the datastore.
2. Backup repository for the Veeam server itself is a 12 bay Synology iSCSI NAS
3. Would it make sense to somehow create a backup or replication job to the local storage on the host and run the SureBackup job from the local spinning disk? If so, what recommendations do you have regarding only maintaining 1 set of data for the test, then purging to make room for other application groups?

Thanks
