Dear All,
ive moved in the past a lot of VLAB-Proxys again to the origin host due a failover or other reasons.
Would it be please Possible, to add a Option to pin the vlab to a specific host?
I think that would really reduce the Support-Amount about it

Re: [Feature Request] - SureBackup: Pin SureLab-Proxy to Host
Hello DoMe
Welcome to the forum.
Is this question about vSphere or HyperV? And are you using Single-Host or Multi-Host labs?
As a workaround, have you checked out vSphere's VM-Host affinity rules?
With those rules, you can define on which host a VM must run.

Best,
Fabian

In this Specific Case it was meaned a VMWARE Multi-Host setup. And Yes i am aware about the Rules feature - but setting it up is a paint in the ...
Thats why i ask, if it will be possible to do this while setting up the Proxy-Lab as a check-box?

Re: [Feature Request] - SureBackup: Pin SureLab-Proxy to Host
Hi DoMe
Using the vSphere Affinity rules are the way to go for Advanced Multi-Host Virtual Labs.
But for Advanced Multi-Host Virtual Labs, the location of the virtual appliance shouldn't matter. The vSphere distributed switch will take care of network connections between the tested VMs on different hosts.
For Basic Single-Host Virtual Labs and Advanced Single-Host Virtual Labs, the virtual appliance will be created on the configured host. There is no need to move the appliance to another host while you are doing maintenance. The appliance is powered off till the SureBackup job starts. If you loose your entire ESXi host or need to use another host, the entire virtual lab with it's network configuration must be recreated for the new host.
Best,
Fabian
