Throttling backup speed

Post by schaffeb » Jan 28, 2010 10:33 pm

With Veeam 4.1 in Virtual Appliance mode the performance is fantastic with our NFS datastores. However, it's so fast that it's putting a pretty high load on our datastores. Is there anyway to throttle the speed of a backup or replication? I guess excessively good performance is always a good problem to have :D

Yes, that's a good problem to have, indeed :D you should be able to limit the speed artificially by limiting CPU resources available to Veeam Backup VM, or making it use Best compression for all jobs, or both.
