Throttling backup speed

With Veeam 4.1 in Virtual Appliance mode the performance is fantastic with our NFS datastores. However, it's so fast that it's putting a pretty high load on our datastores. Is there anyway to throttle the speed of a backup or replication? I guess excessively good performance is always a good problem to have

Yes, that's a good problem to have, indeed you should be able to limit the speed artificially by limiting CPU resources available to Veeam Backup VM, or making it use Best compression for all jobs, or both.
