I'm planning my offsite strategy, and i'm planning to create GFS monthly full's that are uncompressed on my DR storage, and then have windows 2012 dedup them after X number of days ( I don't want the active VBK and VIB's to be touched as i've had bad experiances with that in previous tests, if veeam has to merge them later)
my question is, I want everything from certain jobs to be uncompressed. Would there be any difference in setting the compression level on the backup copy job itself, vs setting the repository to uncompress the data before storage? I'd have to make 2 drives if that was the case so i'm not uncompressing my jobs that aren't going to be long term.
Thank you

Re: Uncompress - where to set?
Setting the compression level to none for the job itself will result in uncompressed traffic going through the link to DR site, which is not what you'd probably want. So I'd create a separate repository for archival jobs and select "Decompress..." check box in it's settings.
