Hello,
Currently, my organization has 6 sockets of Veeam Essentials Enterprise. We need to add 2 more sockets, but we understand that we need to upgrade to the availability suite. We already have a quote and we will be moving ahead with the purchase.
We were wondering if anyone would be able to shed any light on the upgrade process here? Will we have to uninstall the existing essentials suite on our current Veeam server and perform a fresh install of the availability suite? Will we simply have to run the installer and upgrade our Essentials server? What will happen to all the different components present on our current Veeam server? We're worried that we will have to rebuild everything and we do not know what would happen to things like our Jobs/Tape jobs, tape infrastructure, licenses, repositories, and all of our backup files (VIB's/VBK's). For the VIB's and VBK's, would we have to import them back into the Veeam console?
Any insights into this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks =)

Re: Upgrading from Essentials to Availability suite
You would not need to upgrade the software itself, upgrade from Essentials to Availability Suite is just a matter of updating the license.
