Using in a cluster

Post by deesloop »

One Vcentre virtualised in main site
Handles 2 clusters - Main site and DR site
Vcentre replicated to DR siet also.

Anyway.
I'm replciating all the hosts, and do this my choosing the source cluster rther than the host as tyhe backup source
This (I think) should allow me to move VMs around in a server failure (or maybe if I upgrade to DRS also)
However if I choose cluster as destination backup fails - I think.

Is it best to point at host as destination rather than cluster and what happens if I do upgrade and enable DRS?
Granted the machines are all powered off except the XP machine running veeam, so Csphere shouldn't be
load balancing based on load - just on DR host failure...

Cheers :)

Darren, you can specify the cluster as destination, but in this case the replica VMs will be placed on the first host returned by the vCenter Server query. If you have technical issues while replicating, please contact support directly for investigation.
