v10 cosmetic change annoyance - Viewing Job Statistics

Post by tkeith »

We have hundreds of Backup Copy jobs and the best way we have noticed to check these daily for errors is to literally cycle through each job in the Backup Copy window using the down arrow.
Someone decided it was a great idea to change the way Veeam 10 lists this view when highlighting the statistics of a backup copy job.

It used to automatically be at the bottom of this window and would show current status like "waiting for new copy interval" for example. This used to be a quick and easy way for us to run through the backup copy jobs and see if it was completed and/or running successfully as relying on the "last result" did not mean it was currently running OK.

For some reason since upgrading to v10 this window now views at the top... so now instead of simply using the down arrow and quickly running through the hundreds of jobs we now have to scroll down every job status window to view its current running task status... as the status "idle" isn't very helpful for our needs.

Is there a way to change this preview window to view it back to the way v9 displayed the statistics?

Please note this only happens when you single click on the job and view the statistics in the bottom window pane. If i double click the job or right click and open statistics, it will show the last line properly as it used to in the preview pane below.

To be honest i love that it starts at the beginning for one reason: You can easily check the health check status of all the jobs! Before you hat to scroll to the top with every job.

Hi mkretzer,
Can you give an example of what kind of health status information you are seeking at the top of the session log? All latest job status messages are at the bottom, thus where Keith request comes from.
/Thanks!

Sure. Backup file health check is always in the beginning of the session. If i remember correctly there is no easy way to get a health check status other than scrolling to the top of the copy job history.

We already had inconsistencies (which were not fixed by the next run) in the past and only saw these when a copy job failed for some other reason and we checked session log.

Change in v10 with session log being on top of the list by default was not intentional, and will get rolled back to its original behaviour with one of the following updates.
Thanks for bringing that up and sorry for inconvenience.

If it fails or ends up with the warning you should see the error or warning text at the end of the job session anyway
