Value does not fall within the expected range

Post by Dmone » May 13, 2010 8:22 pm

I just installed Backup and FastSCP on a Windows 2003 (fully patched as of 5/10/10) without an error.
When I double click the desktop icon for Veeam Backup and FastSCP, i get a windows pop-up with the following error:

Veeam Backup and FastSCP
(RED X) Value does not fall within the expected range.
[OK]

I click OK and nothing.

I can't even run the program after install!

Hello Damon, probably something is wrong with your Windows 2003 server, some sort of corruption (could be from previously installed software). Windows 2003 is arguably most common platform our customers are installing the product on, and this issue has never been reported before. Please, try installing the product on a different server - preferably with clean OS install and without any 3rd party software. Thanks!

I dont have another server to install it on.
This is a clean install of windows and it is the Veeam product reporting the error. What does the error mean?

Most likely, this means some sort of database issue (bad content). Full logs would provide more details on this. If you'd like us to troubleshoot this, please open a case with our support and provide the debug logs. For instructions refer to the support information provided when you click New Topic. Thanks!
