Veeam 9 and CIFS Netapp Repository Settings
I've been testing Veeam 9 on a Netapp CIFS share with deduplication as my repository and using Snapmirror for replication. Just wondering, do I check "Align backup file data blocks" in the repository settings? I've already increased the recommended cifs.options settings on the Netapp appliance to increase the backup speed. Any other Netapp repository user tips would be helpful. I've been testing with good results and I'm pretty close to putting this in production.

Re: Veeam 9 and CIFS Netapp Repository Settings
From what I remember, NetApp uses 4KB constant block size deduplication, and backup file blocks will be aligned to that boundary regardless, because this is how OS does writes (if I am not mistaken). Align setting in Veeam is useful for constant block size deduplication with larger block sizes.
