Veeam and StoreOnce backup proxy speed/capacity

Post by gdavid16 »

Is anyone actually using the veeam/storeonce over fiber channel (catalyst integration)?

How fast is your data in/out? (how large is your storeonce?)
I saw some stream info in a document, how many jobs are running to a single storeonce share?
I got a vendor estimate a large amount of local storage from my backup proxy server. does catalyst require local storage to stage the data being written to the storeonce?

thanks

Gd.

George, I'd wait for GA, when more customers start deploying v9 in their environments and reporting their observations. Currently, v9 install base is very small, including only partners and beta testers.

Could you please provide some details on the vendor estimate? Basically, local storage is not required since data is being processed by the gateway server on-the-fly. Any chance StoreOnce was considered as a secondary archival backup storage?

Storage requirement for veeam proxy is around 300mb but it's just for the installation part, no local storage is consumed unless the proxy is also used for other Veeam roles.
