Veeam Backup and FastSCP
Hi All, I have installed the Veema Backup and FastSCP, everything went smoothly. But now when I try to backup one of the VM's it is displaying something I don't understand.
Here is my config:
- X4450 with 3 VM's. 1. Virtual Centre, Veeam Software(Backup and FastSCP), and Windows Test. The last VM is the one that I want to backup. They all running Windows 2003 Std edition.
Here is the message I receive everytime I try to do a backup.
Verifying changed block tracking... Disk "Hard disk 1" has incorrect changed block tracking configuration. One or more VM disks have incorrect changed block tracking configuration. To resolve this, open VMware vSphere Client, right-click the VM, choose Edit Settings, Options tab, select General, click Configuration Parameters, and set all entries with ‘ctkEnabled’ substring to false. Veeam Backup will then automatically re-enable changed block tracking with the correct settings during the next job run. Backing up file "[data] Windows-Test/Windows-Test-flat.vmdk" BackupDisk failed Client error: Failed to open VDDK disk [[data] Windows-Test/Windows-Test.vmdk] ( is read-only mode - [true] ) Failed to open VMDK. Logon attempt with parameters [VC/ESX: [10.0.0.21];Port: 443;Login: [administrator];VMX Spec: [moref=vm-43];Snapshot mor: [snapshot-70];Transports: [san]] failed because of the following errors: Failed to open VMDK. Logon attempt with parameters [VC/ESX: [10.0.0.21];Port: 443;Login: [administrator];VMX Spec: [moref=vm-43];Snapshot mor: [snapshot-70];Transports: [nbd]] failed because of the following errors: Server error: End of file

Re: Veeam Backup and FastSCP
Hello, actually there are multiple settings, not just one. Make sure you update all entries. If it still does not work, then it sounds like this VM is using unsupported disk type. It would be best to contact our support for detailed investigation.

Re: Veeam Backup and FastSCP
You may also want to check to see if any of the VM disks are set to "independent" mode, as this will cause errors to be thrown when enabling CBT.
