veeam backup job error : network path was not found. failed to open storage for read write access

Backup job is set to backup to QNAP storage repository which has been added under backup repository and credentials to authenticate to the CIFS share added to veeam manage password and confirmed to be working and share accessible.

error displayed on the backup jobs : network path was not found. failed to open storage for read write access VEEAM Backup Failing: Agent failed to process method {Stg.OpenRead Write}

running on version 9.5 update 4

Hello Tony,

Check the connectivity (i.e. ports and firewall rules) between the gateway server set in the CIFS repository properties and your backup proxies. Additionally, make sure that gateway server can access the CIFS share via the set account (try to access the share via Windows explorer ad when prompted for credentials use the same backup account).
