Veeam Cloud Connect, cold standby but not used?

Post by lando_uk »

Hi

We have 2 sites and we do cross site copies for DR, sites will take each others workloads should anything happen.

In the event of a disaster and one site burns, we then have no offsite copy location for continued protection. Is it possible to have a Cloud Connect repro setup, ready to go (cold standby) if either site was lost but pay very little as we wont be consuming anything? I'm not sure how the licensing works in this scenario.

I know we could use Azure/AWS etc, but we just want a SaaS type service ready to use if needed.

Thanks

Hi Mark,

Are you a service provider that uses Veeam Cloud Connect or you would like to offload backups to a cloud repository provided by some VCSP? If you want to send backups to a cloud repository of some VCSP, then you need to negotiate on the price with that VCSP. Usually this price is done on per-VM basis.

Thanks!
