Veeam Console Distribution

Post by Pollmann_M »

I'm distributing the Veeam Console to our VDI pool. I've written a batch file that does this:
msiexec.exe /L*v "C:\windows\temp\VeeamInstall.txt" /qn /i "Shell.x64.msi" ACCEPT_EULA="1" ACCEPT_THIRDPARTY_LICENSES="1"
veeam_backup_11.0.1.1261_CumulativePatch20211211.exe /silent /noreboot /log c:\windows\temp\VeeamUpdate.txt VBR_AUTO_UPGRADE="1"

This works fine and the console is installed. But when I run it I get the following message:
Unable to upgrade plug-ins under the current user. Please open the console under an account with local administrator privileges.

I've tried adding these to the script:
VeeamExplorerForActiveDirectory.msi
VeeamExplorerForExchange.msi
VeeamExplorerForOracle.msi
VeeamExplorerForSharePoint.msi
VeeamExplorerForSQL.msi
VeeamExplorerForTeams.msi
VeeamGuestAgent_x64.msi
VeeamLogBackupService_x64.msi
VeeamMountService.msi
VeeamTransport.msi

but it does not fix it.
Where can I find the install files for the plug-ins?

Hi Martijn,

Might be a stupid question, but what account are you using to execute the script? Have you tried doing that with the built-in local administrator account?

Thanks!

Hi Vitaliy,

I'm using SCCM to push the install. SCCM uses the system account.

Martijn,

Ok, are you able to deploy these packages to computers without UAC enabled? Just trying to understand how finding install files of the plugins will help in overcoming it.

Thanks!
