Veeam Essentials Licensing 2 Backup Servers
I'm wondering if its allowed to buy a pack of 5 VE backup licenses, but have a backup server in separate sites, but neither site connects to the other backup server.
Basically Site 1 would have Backup Server1, with say 3 workstations, which would only use 1 VUL, leaving 4 VUL unused.
Backup Site 2 would have Backup Server2, with a server and 9 workstations, using up the other 4 VUL.
Is this allowed or do VE licenses all have to be used on the same site with a single Veeam backup server?

You can install an Enterprise Manager (comes with Backup & Replication) and give the Enterprise Manager the license and add both Backup & Replication server to it.
Enterprise Manager will distribute licenses as needed to the Backup & Replication Servers.

I probably should have mentioned that we are an MSP and do manage a number of vSMB. We have some sites with only 2-3 computers. These small companies are going to not want to pay $400/yr for the VE 5 pack, when they only need single VUL. Its much easier to sell them on $80 a year, plus using BackBlaze B2 with SOBR for cloud backups of Veeam backups. The clients with 10+ computers generally aren't phased by spending $400/yr plus cloud storage fees for their backups.

As a MSP I think you need to use another type of licensing anyway to not work against our EULA.
Can you please reach out to the Veeam Cloud Service Provider (VCSP) team to check this? In the end licensing is a sales specific issue and you can find only technical people here in the forums.

Andreas is correct here, you cannot use subscription or perpetual licenses to provide MSP services, you need a rental license for this. Kindly, reach your sales representative and discuss potential licensing options. Thanks!

Yeah as MSP you must be using Rental licensing exclusively for your clients. It is much more flexible though.
